Planning your giving
We are all used to the idea of budgeting for a variety of needs in our ordinary everyday lives and most church going people will recognise the need to finance the maintenance and upkeep of their churches and already make a regular donation to this during the Offertory. As part of this we also operate a Planned Giving and Gift Aid Scheme.
Joining the Planned Giving Scheme couldn’t be easier. We ask each individual/family to set aside from their weekly income whatever it is that they realistically decide is going to be their contribution to the work of the Church. The easiest and most convenient way to do this is to set up a Standing Order with your bank to make a regular donation of a set amount – this can be done online here or via the office. Alternatively, you can request a set of envelopes which you can bring along to the weekly Mass celebration, if you would prefer to do this then please contact the parish office.

GIFT AID SCHEME:
If you are a UK tax payer we can, at no extra cost to you, reclaim 25p for every £1 you donate … which really can make a big difference! The Government’s Gift Aid scheme allows us to reclaim tax on all of your donations to the church.
For your donation(s) to be eligible for Gift-Aid you must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax in the UK for each tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the tax that the parish reclaims on your donations in that tax year. If you contribute £5 per week, multiply that (or whatever amount you give) by 52 = £260. Multiply £260 x 25% = £65 given to the parish by the tax man!!
If you are a UK Taxpayer and you would like to Gift-Aid a donation you need to fill out a GIFT AID Form which can be requested from the parish office.
Our Gift Aid co-ordinators are:
St Aidan’s & St Bernadette’s – Andy Minihan
St Columba’s – Teresa Keys
