Can I recommend this YouTube song 'UK Blessing' which has already had 2.7 million views. Over 65 churches combined to produce this and I think you'll find it moving and uplifting.

Hello. Last week saw the 5th anniversary of the Pope’s encyclical on climate change and a friend of mine has spent his ‘lockdown’ undertaking a course related to Laudato Si. I would like to share his thoughts and request - with his permission of course:

“Over the last few weeks during lockdown I have been studying the Global Catholic Climate Movement’s online course on Laudato Si’ which has helped me to reflect on the current coronavirus crisis as well as the ongoing climate and ecological crises. The need to take action and reform our society for the common good can never have been greater.

During the course I came across a resource which I would like to share with you – The Ecological Examen as explained below. As the 5th Anniversary of Pope Francis’s inspiring encyclical approaches next week I feel this is one way in which we can all consider the changes we need to make including to our own lifestyles.

What is the Ecological Examen?

· A reflection tool to heed Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ to care for creation and to reconcile our relationship with God, creation and one another.

· The Examen asks us to reflect on our personal relationship with creation, to acknowledge and amend our lifestyles and to promote ecological justice by standing in solidarity with those most impacted by environmental harm.

· A tool for prayer, reflection and action as individuals in their home, parish, school, university or community to deepen our call to care for creation and the most vulnerable.
If you would like to participate in this reflection please visit:

http://www.ecologicalexamen.org/

I would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to share their experience of the Examen and, particularly, if you have decided to adopt at least one lifestyle change as an outcome. I do plan to produce a summary of responses and actions (which will be anonymised). Please contact me via email as below and share this resource with anyone in your circle of contacts who you think might appreciate this valuable resource.
Many thanks

Chris Myers

Hi Everyone,

There is a virtual mass lobby of parliament next Tuesday, 30 June on the subject of climate change. This is an opportunity for constituents to let their MP know how much they care about creation, the planet we are fortunate enough to call home, as well as nature and the environment in general. I have asked the MP for North Tyneside, Mrs Mary Glindon, if she will offer some time for either a telephone conference call or a Zoom meeting (this latter does require access to the internet). Would anyone be prepared to join this call? If so, please let me know and I will make the necessary arrangements. I will also need to let Mary Glindon know in advance who will be joining. Please contact me with any questions or issues.

today’s economic climate doesn’t allow you to relish on these mistaken notions of perfection. Just see how the business landscape has changed in the last 10 years or so due to the onslaught of social media and hand-held devices.
