In more normal times we are a thriving and active Parish Community with something to offer everyone and it really is the people who make it such a great place to be. We truly live out our mission within our church and strive to work towards our vision. Due to Covid-19 most of our groups and social events are currently on hold but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t as busy as ever…have a look below at some of our achievements and lockdown projects from 2020.
During the Covid Pandemic we have worked hard to support the most vulnerable and isolated in our own community and beyond, with everything from regular events such as weekly newsletter deliveries, online Sunday services, livestreamed Masses and telephone prayer groups to the virtual community bingo. Plus hand-crafted Advent wreath/Christmas Star deliveries, St Aidan’s Parish Poppy Project as well as our online Christmas Carol Service and VE-day sing-a-long. In addition to the support we have provided to our own parishioners the generosity of our community has reached out as always and continued to help keep our local foodbank fully stocked with donations of goods and cash each week.
